At Hills Psychology & Wellness we receive referrals from GP’s, paediatricians, psychiatrists, other allied health professionals, government agencies and other community organisations. In addition, individuals are always welcome to call us to arrange an appointment. We will offer advice about your eligibility to receive financial support including a Medicare rebate.

Self referrals
You do not need a referral to book an appointment with our Clinical Psychologist. If you have Private Health Insurance, you may be entitled to a rebate through your provider. We recommend you check with your provider prior to your appointment.
GP Referral through Better Access to Mental Health Care Initiative
Prior to your appointment with Hills Psychology & Wellness, we recommend seeing your GP to be assessed for a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP). If a MHCP is provided this entitles you to a Medicare rebate to use for 10 sessions to assist you with payment. After the initial 10 sessions, you are required to return to your GP for a review, and they may recommend a further 10 sessions.
Please note that you are only eligible for 20 sessions per calendar year. In order for us to process your rebate, we require a copy of your MHCP and referral from your GP. You can ask your GP to send the referral and MHCP directly to us, you can email us directly or bring it in with you on the day of your appointment.
Paediatrician or psychiatrist referrals
You or your child may be referred to us by a Paediatrician or Psychiatrist. Please discuss your eligibility for a MHCP with your health professional.
